Horse safari in the Deosai plains is fantastic way to explore the Deosai plateau. Deosai is the second highest plateau in the world. The Deosai National Park is situated in the Skardu and Astore Districts of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan.

Deosai translates to “the land of Giants.” The park is situated in the Deosai Plains of Gilgit-Baltistan. The name Deosai means “Land of Giants.” Deosai is a tourist destination, and many tourists who visit Baltistan also visit Deosai.

Deosai Plains Horse Safari itinerary

Day

01: Arrival Islamabad

Arrival at airport and then transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad.
Day

02: Islamabad to Skardu (By Air)

Early morning flight to Skardu (flights are subject to weather), if unable to fly we will depart for Skardu by road with overnight stay at Chilas.
Day

03: Chilas to Skardu

In case of flight has operated we will go for sightseeing tour of Skardu and in case no flight, the day will be used for over land travel from Chilas to Skardu (total drive is 22 – 24 hrs from Islamabad to Skardu). Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.

04: Skardu to Ali Malik Pass

After breakfast drive to Ali Malik Pass. En route stop half hour at Sadpara Lake eight kilometers south of Skardu. This is a virgin lake. Its source is coming from mountains. There is a stunning view north and south from the top of the ride before the lake. Overnight at Ali Malik Pass. (Tent)

05: Ali Malik Pass to Barapani

After breakfast our journey will start on Horseback towards Barapani Overnight at Barapani. (Tent)

06: Reast day at Barapani

Full day Excursion to Deosai National Park to explore the endangered wild life species, Brown Bears, Brown marmots and Migratory Birds and wild flowers. At night BBQ bonfire and local music. Overnight at Barapani. (Tent)

07: Barapani to Sheosar Lake

After breakfast. Horse riding to Sheosar Lake en route stop for lunch at Kalapani after lunch continues our journey to Sheosar Lake. Overnight at Sheosar Lake. (Tent)

08: Sheosar Lake to Skardu

After breakfast we will drive back to Skardu en route stop at Sadpara Lake after lunch continue drive to Skardu Upon arrival transferred toHotel. Overnight at Skardu

09: Skardu to Islamabad (By Air) or drive to Chilas

After breakfast transfer to airport fly to Islamabad (flights are subject to weather), if unable to fly we will depart for Islamabad by road with overnight stay at Chilas.

10: Islamabad

In case of flight has operated then we will go for full day excursion to Murree and drive back to Islamabad. Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad. in case no flight, the day will be used for over land travel from Chilas to Islamabad overnight stay at Chilas

11: Islamabad to Flight out

Transfer to airport for flight back home.

Please Note: Gilgit Baltistan flights are subject to weather and backlog, in case of flight cancellation we will travel by road, and one night of Islamabad will be adjusted in overland travel.
