The Charakusa glacier is the most eastern of five glacier systems radiating from the northern end of the Hushe valley. This region has earned its reputation as the Chamonix of the Karakoram.
Hushe, the road-end village in Baltistan, offers trekking and mountaineering activities suitable for a variety of ages and preferences. The Charakursa glacier is located in the vicinity of the Magnificence Mountains, only a few kilometres from Hushe. In the centre of Karakorum, the K6 (7281 m), K7 (6934 m), Link Sar (7041 m), Drificar(6650 m), Kapura Peak (6545 m), Niza Peak, and Namika (6381 m) offer unique opportunities to climb rock and ice pinnacles. Many of the peaks are less than 6,000 metres, which means no permission cost and no liaison officer, and a three-day trek from the end of the road makes a Karakorum adventure inexpensive.
This trek is suitable for people who wish to hike directly into the unspoilt heart of the Karakoram. It is neither tough or strenuous, and the majority of campsites include shady trees, rich green flora, and wildflowers, as well as a high likelihood of spotting wildlife. There are a handful of unclimbed summits waiting to be conquered.
