Trango Groups Rock Climbing

Trango Groups Rock Climbing holiday in The Karakoram Mountains of Pakistan. The Trango groups have their own allure for rock climbers from throughout the world; Trango is a prince among the other groups of Towers and gives a breathtaking vista from the Baltoro glacier. The majority of rock climbers in the United States and Europe enjoy climbing these towers. It also attracts Polish and Japanese individuals over the years.

Great Trango (6,287m) was first climbed on July 21, 1977, by the Americans Galen Rowell, John Roskelly, Kim Schmitz, and Dennis Hennek. The Trango Towers are located on the Baltoro cathedral massif, surrounded by Lupsand Tower, Uhli Beaho Tower, Muztagh Tower, Biange Tower, and Paiyu Peak. They had climbed through the mountain’s South Face. The East Face of Great Trango Towers , measuring 1600m from base to summit, is one of the world’s tallest rock faces.

The first ascent was accomplished by the Norwegians Hans Christian Doseth and Finn Daehli in 1984, but they sadly died while abseiling.
The so-called Nameless Tower is the most breathtaking of the Trango structures (6,251m). Bo Anthoine and Martin Boysen of the United Kingdom were the first to ascend via the South-West Face. Joe Brown and Malcolm Howells both reached the peak of Nameless Tower the next day. Kurt Albert and Wolfgang Gllich made Alpine history in 1989 when they free-climbed a route they named Eternal Flame (with pitches graded 7c), thereby establishing free-climbing in the world’s highest mountains.
